Philadelphia’s arts & culture scene is evolving in exciting ways, blending iconic history with immersive, contemporary experiences. Since the publication of Pennsylvania Day Trips in December, two new museums have opened and the iconic Rocky statue is moving indoors.

At the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the beloved Rocky statue has been temporarily moved indoors as part of a new exhibition, Rising Up: Rocky and the Making of Monuments. This exhibit explores the meaning of public monuments through art and history, placing the famous sculpture in a broader cultural context.

Just down the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the newly opened Calder Gardens offers a serene, immersive art environment dedicated to sculptor Alexander Calder. Designed as both indoor and outdoor space, the new museum invites visitors to wander among rotating installations and thoughtfully designed landscapes that emphasize reflection and connection with art and nature.

For something entirely unexpected, Ministry of Awe in Old City transforms a historic bank into a six-story immersive art adventure. With interactive rooms, surreal installations, and theatrical elements the experience blurs the lines between museum, performance, and dreamscape.

Together, these updated experiences show Philadelphia as a city where tradition and innovation meet, always offering new ways to engage with art, history, and imagination.
